Hi, I am Peggy Pauwels.
I was born and raised in a small village just north of Brussels. Boring right? Right!
I blame my parents for turning me in to this globetrotting nomad. My childhood was filled with lots of travel, culture, books, cinema and great food and thus an appetite for living life to the fullest.
The first seeds of a plan to move abroad sprang to life at the age of 16. 14 years later I proudly walked over London Bridge and called London home.
My deep-rooted passion to fight social injustice led me to sign up to campaign for Amnesty International and study Law. The fight for the protection of human rights is core to my belief system. Did I sell out the day I started my career as a corporate lawyer? It’s a question that still haunts me regularly…
21 years later and I proudly look back to my business career. No regrets! On the contrary, loads of great experiences and even more opportunity to learn.
But I am more than a business woman!
Cut me in half and you’ll find I am all about having fun, laughter, being together with loved-ones, preferably sharing scrumptious food and drinks – champers always!! I discovered the joys of hiking and high-altitude trekking during a trip to Peru in 1997 and try to have an adventurous-volcano-hiking holiday every year. For the remainder of the year, I work out and have recently rediscovered the joys of running. A 20k race is my latest achievement.
Being active is second nature to me. In the words of Lenny Kravitz, I am “Always on the Run”. Which brings me to music – truly the common thread that runs through my life.
Music was my solace in my turbulent teenage years ( I am a child of the 80’s and the New Wave period), allowed me hang out with my older brother listening to his records, was (is) my excuse for mad dance moves, is one of the many things that underpins my friendship with my soulmate Caroline and takes me every year to the Rock Werchter rock festival which is where I met the love of my life, Tim.
I don’t have kids of my own but I am proud to call myself a “plus mum” to Noa (10) and Mathis (5).
My pathway of exploration, learning, development, personal & professional growth are all the things I am eager to write about. I invite you to join me on my journey…hope you enjoy the ride!
